Juno Valentine and the Fantastic Fashion Adventure By Eva Chen & Derek Desierto

Back of Book:
It’s school picture day and Juno Valentine is having a fashion emergency! Her mom wants her to wear fabulous florals, her dad wants her to wear rainbow ruffles, but Juno’s not sure what to choose. And just when Juno thinks her conundrum couldn’t get any more complicated, her little brother, Finn, disappears into the magical hall of shoes!
In an epic chase through time, Juno gets some help from female icons like Simone Biles, Audrey Hepburn, Annie Oakley, and Michelle Obama. Along the way, she discovers the self-confidence she needs to express herself in her own magical way.
My Review:
I received a copy of this picture book from Macmillan Kids in exchange for an honest review.
Juno Valentine is back in another creative and fun adventure. This time Juno and Finn fall through time and meet amazing women of the past and present who impacted history. The story begins with Juno trying to decide what she wants to wear for her school picture day. As she goes through her closet, Finn falls back into the magic hall of shoes. In this magic place, Juno is introduced to several women of the past. Each woman offers Juno something of theirs to add to her outfit. Along the way, Juno realizes that what is on the inside is just as important as the outside. The illustrations by Derek Desierrto are bright and colorful. I loved the details of each of the women mentioned in the story. The back of the book shares more information about the Groundbreaking Women in the story. This is a sweet and magical story that opens the reader’s eyes to important women in history.
